Neil is a tax partner in the Cheltenham office and he joined the firm in 1986. With special responsibility for providing tax planning advice, Neil is a lateral thinker who finds solutions to complex problems. Most recently Neil assisted in guiding a business which he has advised from virtual inception to a successful flotation on the UK stock exchange with an initial listing value of £400m (Supergroup plc). He led the campaign challenging the HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of taxpayers who received a bonus from the C&G take-over by Lloyds TSB. His successful contention resulted in taxpayers saving approximately £100million as it set a precedent for this and other similar cases. Neil had his own editorial column giving tax advice in the Sunday Telegraph. Neil is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is authorised to give Financial Services advice.
