Louis joined Horwath Clark Whitehill in March 2008 as a partner in the Risk & Assurance Group. He previously headed up a Risk & Control Services team at a boutique corporate advisory firm, having specialised in the delivery of a range of corporate governance, business risk, internal control and internal audit services at one of the ‘Big 4’ professional services firms. Louis is responsible for developing and delivering support and advisory services in areas such as the corporate governance requirements of the UK Combined Code and Turnbull Guidelines; risk management frameworks and processes to meet corporate strategic, operational and compliance needs; internal audit partnering, outsourcing and advisory services, with reference to leading practices and benchmarking; and internal financial control effectiveness reviews to comply with reporting requirements such as US Sarbanes-Oxley S404. Louis has helped boards and senior management teams across a spectrum of industry sectors including: business services, consumer and industrial products, e-commerce, investment trusts, leisure & entertainment, media, natural resources, pharmaceuticals and retail. He is a Non-Executive Director of the Non-Executive Directors Association, and a member of the Quoted Company Alliance (‘QCA’) Corporate Governance Committee, the Institute of Risk Management (‘IRM’) ‘Innovation, Value Creation and Opportunity’ Special Interest Group, and the ICAEW PCAOB Panel.
