Stuart is a tax partner in the private client group at Horwath Clark Whitehill’s London office. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1974 after taking a bachelor of commerce degree at edinburgh university and has specialised in tax for the past 30 years. He joined Horwath Clark Whitehill in 1995 having previously been a partner in two mid-tier firms. His clients represent a wide spectrum of business activities including barristers, high net worth individuals, and non domiciled individuals, across different generations. His work involves most aspects of tax including trusts, onshore and offshore, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning. Stuart is the national firm’s money laundering reporting officer (mlro) with the appropriate responsibility for the firm’s training and client identification procedures. Stuart is also the compliance officer for the investment business undertaken by llp members and staff, reporting on their behalf to the financial services authority in respect of procedures, technical competence, and financial matters.
