Risk management

Charity trustees make a statement each year in the Trustees' Report confirming that the charity has identified the major risks it faces and that appropriate steps have seen taken to mitigate them.

Trustees of larger charities are likely to find it very difficult to make this statement without formal review of the system of internal control, a process usually undertaken by internal audit.
